On March 18th, BGE joins the American Gas Association, our peer Exelon utilities, Delmarva Power and PECO, and natural gas companies across the nation in celebrating Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day.

“BGE is the nation’s first gas utility, providing essential energy services for our customers and the communities we serve for over 200 years. We wouldn’t be the company we are today without our employees who are committed to providing safe and reliable service,” said Dawn White, vice president of Gas Distribution. “Today, BGE honors our natural gas employees who work year-round, in all kinds of conditions, to maintain and modernize our natural gas system while providing the highest level of service to our customers.”

Safety is always BGE’s top priority, and that is especially true when responding to natural gas odors. If a customer reports a natural gas odor, BGE has a commitment to respond to calls within one hour.

No matter the time of day or night, BGE’s employees are dedicated to performing essential around-the-clock services to safely maintain more than 7,500 miles of natural gas pipelines serving the company’s 700,000 natural gas customers. And whether it’s a routine maintenance or an urgent incident, our natural gas workers always put the needs of our customers first, day in and day out.
