Good Energy Builds Good Relationships

During its 2023 Premier Customer Meeting, BGE’s Large Customer Services Team engaged large customers and energy users in conversations about sustainability and the evolving energy landscape.

What happens when Maryland’s largest companies come together for a half-day meeting with BGE and the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA)? An extensive discussion on how to approach energy policy changes and an opportunity to work together to prepare for the evolving landscape.

BGE hosted the annual Premier Customer Meeting on the Towson University campus on September 14th where the largest commercial energy users in the state gathered to network, connect with BGE representatives about upcoming innovations, and hear directly from MEA leaders about the Climate Solutions Now Act, along with its challenges and benefits to the state and business environment.

Over 150 large businesses participated in learning and asking questions about various programs to help transition to a clean energy economy. BGE provided exhibits and materials to show commercial customers how to reduce their emissions while staying within their budget, from energy efficiency rebates to EV charger incentives. Angela Ahmad, Sr. Manager of Large Customer Services, said, “We invested our energies into this event to demonstrate not only BGE’s interest in being an environmental steward but also our desire to help our customers on their sustainability journeys.”

During the event, customers had the opportunity to hear from not only the energy representatives in the room but also from each other, as several organizations such as Baltimore City Public Schools, CareFirst, MTA, and Towson University participated in an enlightening panel discussion to share ideas and projects they’ve initiated at their facilities to reduce greenhouse gases and energy costs.

“The most effective way to build understanding, trust, and ultimately a relationship is to bring our message and information to customers through face-to-face conversation,” said BGE Sr. Account Representative Poly Ofwono. “To me, that’s what Good Energy is all about.”
