Want to get fit? No sweat. Baltimore’s REV Cycle Studio is on the job. REV Cycle Studio’s 2,600 square foot facility is located in Brewers Hill. Whether you want to push yourself or take it at your own pace, REV Cycle’s talented instructors are here to inspire, motivate, and challenge you throughout your ride. That’s why they call it, “The Best Sweat in Town.”

During the pandemic, however, it seemed REV Cycle Studio might not be able to keep pedaling. “The fitness industry has been hit especially hard with shutdowns and extremely limiting restrictions. We lost nearly 70% of our clients and revenue over the past year and have had to pivot in creative ways in order to save the business,” says owner Rick Zambrano.

Thanks to a BGE’s Energizing Small business grant, REV Cycle Studio’s staff can continue to create health and wellness for the city. “I’ll be able to pay the salaries of our full time and part time employees, as well as cover some of the critical expenses that allow us to remain open. We’re here to serve the Baltimore community that has come to rely on us over the past seven years,” Zambrano says. In other words, pedal to the metal.

Opportunity-making is what the BGE Smart Energy Business Grants program is all about. The BGE Smart Energy Grants Program embodies BGE’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In total, 522 businesses have received Energizing Small Business Grants totaling $10.48 million since 2021. The Energizing Small Business Grants program and all nonprofit contributions are made using shareholder dollars and are not reflected in customer bills.

To be considered for a BGE Energizing Small Business Grant, applicants must be a for-profit business located within BGE’s service area; be an existing BGE electric and/or gas customer with positive BGE credit history; be in good standing (or on the way to) with the State of Maryland; have a maximum of 25 employees (full-time, part-time, contractors); have a maximum annual gross revenue of $7 million; and have a demonstrated need of funding to support business and serve customers.
