I’m Shawnna Johnson—a Baltimore native now living in Harford County with my husband (Andre), our kids, and grandkids. I’ve spent my life in service to others, whether through counseling, advocacy, or community leadership. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Rehabilitation Specialist, I founded Strategic Therapeutic Solutions, LLC to provide therapeutic services to individuals and families navigating life’s challenges. My work spans organizations like People Inspiring People, Inner County Outreach, and Core Family Services, and my heart is always with those who need a little extra support to find their way.
Family is the heart of everything I do—this is where my good energy begins.
To me, Good Energy is the genuine exchange of positivity, compassion, and intention. It’s showing up with an open heart and a calm spirit, ready to uplift others and create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and safe. Whether I’m mentoring youth, supporting families in recovery, or simply lending a listening ear, I try to leave every room a little brighter than I found it.
One of the most meaningful chapters in my journey was coordinating the Family Recovery Support Program with the Baltimore County Circuit Court. For seven years, I walked alongside families affected by substance use disorder, helping them rebuild their lives and reunite with their children. Watching parents regain custody, maintain sobriety, and rediscover their strength was a powerful reminder of why I do this work. Their resilience fed my soul.
But none of this would be possible without the foundation of reliable electricity. It powers my virtual therapy sessions, keeps my home warm and welcoming, and allows me to stay connected to the people I serve. It’s the light my grandkids read by, the heat that keeps us comfortable, and the energy that fuels our everyday lives. I don’t take it for granted—because when the lights come on and the systems work, I can focus on what matters most: helping others and being present for my family.
I’ve faced challenges—resistance from those who struggle to trust, and the personal toll of balancing service with family time. But I’ve learned that persistence, empathy, and self-care are key. I’m proud of the lives I’ve touched and the growth I’ve witnessed. And I’m excited for what’s next: expanding my practice, securing new contracts, and continuing to build bridges in the community.
Good energy is about showing up with intention and joy.
Good energy isn’t just what BGE delivers—it’s what we share. And I’m honored to be a part of that light.
